yes you can,put your music (.ogg) in your own folder in /packages (example /packages/michi
edit /default_map_settings.cfg accordingly. (the lines where you find fanatics songs listed...)

Reiner:
[mumbo$jumbo@godzilla /usr/games/cube]$ cat start-cube.sh
screen -A -d -m -S cube-server ./bin_unix/linux_server -nGodzilla -i129.177.234.18
Usually works until cube desides to die.

#3691: Permanent server and security |

Hello World,
I am located in france and I discovered Cube the last week and I appreciated very much !
I would like to set up a permanent Linux server, but, before to do that, there are 1 or 2 things I would like to know :
- are there security issues to set up a server (network vulnerabilities) ?
- how to have a server up to date with all existing maps ? Is there a specific procedure or must I download and install maps manually ?

you have to do it manually, nut maps that arent included probably wont get much play, so i wouldnt bother.

1. There are no vulnerabilities.
2. Servers don't need copies of maps or other media, it's not like running a quake server.

none that i know of. That's very unprobable as Cube physics were tweaked to "feel good" instead of "being realistic"... since you play Cube you'll find running and jumping in real life boring ;)

physics can do both. Serious Sam's shotgun was spectacular for this - there's nothing like shooting a monster from point blank range with the double shotgun and knocking him 20 feet away. A little physics can add a lot of fun. Still, Cube's netcode could proclude physics anyways - physics effects on other objects would be confusing.

Hi,
I love cube and played it for a long time on linux. Now, I'm sitting in Front of WinXP with ATI Radeon 9600 and latest drivers, but everythink (instead of the sky) is black. Anybody knows how to fix?

ran into the same problem with the "forceware" drivers (may have the name wrong). i don't know about the ATI drivers, but i would guess they should work fine. myself, i use the Omega drivers (http://www.omegadrivers.net/).
i quickly changed a few settings with the FW drivers to try and solve the problem, but had no luck. going back to the Omega's solved it however. i think i also recall a number of Linux peeps having this same problem. they may be able to help as well (most here are Linux i'm guessing).

wait for the 4.12 or 4.13 drivers or get the 4.9 or maybe the version 4.9 beta drivers (for doom 3...they should work).
ATI must hate sdl or something
